Last-minute amended charges in Royal Malaysian Air Force case

Major Zaidi Ahmad, RMAF
Five charges having been set aside, amended charges have been filed at the last minute in the ongoing court-martial of Royal Malaysian Air Force Major Zaidi Ahmad, according to this story from the Malaysian Insider. The amended charges are laid under s. 51 of the Armed Forces Act 1972, which punishes the violation of standing orders. The case, previously referred to here, concerns allegations that Maj. Zaidi sent political text messages and made public statements and leaked information concerning the use of indelible ink in a 2013 election. The High Court can quash the amended charges.
